Dash Express Professional Reviews:
CNET has reviewed the Dash Express and given out” The good: The Dash Express portable navigation system offers Internet connectivity via Wi-Fi or cellular network and allows for live searches, real-time traffic updates, and more. There’s also a Send2Car feature for easy trip planning and text-to-speech functionality. The bad: The Dash’s tracking capabilities were off the mark. At this time, there’s no capability to connect a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone or use the Express as a hands-free speaker system. The unit is also fairly bulky. The bottom line: The two-way connectivity of the Dash Express portable navigation system offers powerful search and traffic capabilities to drivers and increases the value of GPS to the next level, but the system needs some refinements before we’re willing to invest in it.”
PCmag has reviewed the Dash Express and given out” Bottom Line: The Dash Express is the first consumer GPS that incorporates cellular technology to keep connected to the Web. Impressive features such as Yahoo! LiveSearch, over-the-air software and map updates, and community-based live traffic information provide a glimpse of the future of GPS. But for now, you can get a more full-featured device for less money. Pros: Built-in GPRS technology. Live traffic updates from other Dash users and third-party providers. Yahoo! LiveSearch. No need to connect to a PC for software and map updates. Cons: Bulky and heavy. Lacks multisegment routing. Can’t specify routes to avoid.”
gpsreview has reviewed the Dash Express and given out” The inability of the GPS to auto-zoom as you approach intersections, and map that is sometimes difficult to scan quickly makes for it to be not the best choice when you are in tight unfamiliar areas. On the other hand if you are a hard-core commuter who keeps the radio tuned to stations with frequent traffic updates the Dash Express is your dream GPS.”
