DO NOT buy either of the Nextar units. I originally bought the 2707 at Canadian Tire. Great price, huge screen etc. The unit takes forever to lock up and that voice is more annoying than my ex-wife. The routes it displays are ridiculous. It has you exit a highway and driving through towns, when you could go a few more exits down the road and get to your destination faster with out all the stop and go driving. Continue Reading »

Based on the stock photo and the picture on the box, I was expecting a cheap looking brick, but instead got a shiny, sleek, and relativly thin/portable GPS/MP3 player. I tested the MP3 out right away and it worked smoothly with simple, intuitive menus (It’s not a Ipod, but it is much better than any MP3 player I’ve seen built into most MP3 capable cell phones). This is my first GPS. I wanted a unit with TTS and a 4.3″ screen. I was looking at the TomTom 720 and the Garmin nuvi 750 when I saw the great price on this unit. I decided to take a chance on a unit costing much less than what I was planning to spend. (In fairness, the TomTom and Garmin have a few additional features like an FM transmitter.)
